INS Sarvekshak India’s first ship goes green.
Indian Navy’s Survey vessel INS Sarvekshak based in Kochi has
become the first Indian ship to go green. It has been installed by solar power
system on board.
The solar panels have the capacity to produce 5.4 kV of
electricity. The system equipped on the ship which works on sunlight and it is
reliable for power source which can use for communication equipment , battery
charging and general lightings.
The flexible panels can be installed in
any place where sunlight is available which requires a 1-sqmt panel to produce
100 watts. The system is maintenance-free. The flexible panels are imported
from US.
