India and Japan Signed Agreement on Rail Safety
India and Japan has signed an Agreement on enhancing Rail Safety in Indian Railways with focus on railway track and rolling stock safety. Agreement was came in during the time when the train derailments are on the rise
The MoU was signed between A.K Mittal , Indian Railway Board Chairman and Hiroshi Tabata, Japan Vice Minister of Ministry of Land, Infrastructure , Transport and Tourism
As Per the Agreement, to check the major rail accidents, both the countries agreed in the areas of cooperation include the Rail Weilding, Rail Inspection and Providing automatic railway track safety inspection, maintenance of rolling stock and relevant railway safety.
