India's first integrated heliport inaugurated at Rohini in National Capital.
'India's frst integrated heliport inaugurated at
Rohini, north-west of New Delhi by State owned chopper operator Pawan Hans.
'The Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju
has inaugurated the country's first Heliport in Rohini.
The Heliport consists of a terminal building with a
capacity of 150 passengers, 4 hangars with the parking capacity of 16
Helicopters and 9 parking bays built with cost of Rs 100 crore.
Commencement of services expecting to reduce the
congestion at the Indira Gandhi International Delhi Airport which
currently handles 40-50 helicopters arrivals and departure on an average day.
The Heliport also promote Regional Air connectivity
through helicopter for northern part of country , helps in disaster management,
helicopter emergency medical services in addition to law and order surveillance
also centre for the skill development of pilots and engineers.
