53rd meeting of SAARC Programming committee began in Kathmandu , Nepal.
53rd meeting of SAARC Programming committee began in
Kathmandu , Nepal. This is a positive move following the postponement of the
19th summit that was scheduled in Pakistan last year after Indea and some
members expressed their inability to participate.
The Programming
committee meeting would discuss the budget management for the operation of
SAARC members.The Programming
committee comprises of foreign joint-Secretary of SAARC countries.
About SAARC
The
South Asia Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) is an Economic and
Geopolitical Organisation which is founded in Dhaka on 1985, headquarters is in
Kathmandu, Nepal.
It has 8 members include India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, The Maldives,
Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. SAARC Comprises 21 % of World’s population and 3.8
percent of world Economy. SAARC promotes development of economic and regional
integration and also plays the guiding force for the member countries.
