International Atomic Energy Agency satisfied with safety of Kudankulam reactors
Yukiya Amano, Director General, IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) said that IAEA was satisfied with the safety measurement of Kudankulam Reactors.
About the Safety features:
- Yukiya Amano said that , Kudankulam Reactors has the most modern safety features includes passive heat removal mechanism, in case of emergency no need to use outside power to cool it instead it will cool down using natural air circulation.
- Also it has hydrogen re- combiners and core catcher incorporated in 1000 MWVVER.
- It also has 4 diesel generators to supply electricity to cool the reactors during emergency.
