1.India to ratify Kyoto
Protocol's 2nd Commitment Period On Climate Change
Anil Madhav Dave, Minister of State for Environment, Forest and
Climate Change said that, Indian Government has decided to ratify the second
commitment period of the Kyoto Protocol from 2013-2020 to cut down the emission
of Emission of Greenhouse Gases (GHGs).
The second commitment period (2013-2020) which was
adopted on Doha in 2012 after successfully completing the first commitment from
2008 to 2012 as per Kyoto protocol.
2. Ek Bharat
Shrestha Bharat’ programme
The Minister of State (HRD), Dr. Mahendra Nath
Pandey in a written reply to a Lok Sabha question said that ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha
Bharat’ programme aims to actively enhance interaction between people of
diverse cultures living in different States and union territories with the
objective of promoting mutual understanding amongst them.
Currently 20 States/ union territories have
signed MoUs and all States have been advised to draw up Action Plans for
implementing selected joint activities in the year 2017.
3.The Indian Navy decommissioned iconic Tupolev-142M anti-submarine warfare .
Indian Navy has decided to decommissioned Iconic Tupolev-142M Long Range Maritime Reconnaissance (LRMR) aircraft used for anti-submarine warfare ,which was guarding the
Indian Ocean region for last 29 years.
As per official statement, it is one of
the most formidable airborne reconnaissance
platforms around the world, was part of all major operations of the Navy since
its induction in 1988.
It was inducted in Indian Navy at Dabolim , Goa from the erstwhile USSR
in 1988.
4.Hong Kong’s new Chief executive Carrie Lam.
Hong Kong has chooen its first women head ,Carrie Lam. She will become
Hong Kong’s first Woman Chief Executive. She has won 777 votes compared with
365 against her closest rival.
5.West Bengal Won Santosh Trophy.
West Bengal football team has won the final of the 32nd
SAntosh Trophy national football championship by beating Gaoa by 1-0 at GMC
Stadium,Bambolim, Goa.
