Prime Minister launches UDAN Scheme
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has launched UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam
Nagrik) scheme and flagged off first UDAN flight under Regional
Connectivity Scheme from Shimla to Delhi. He also flagged off flights
from Kadapa–Hyderabad, and Nanded-Hyderabad sectors .
About the Scheme
- The Scheme wil cover 45 unserved and under served airports to make flying more affordable.
- Will get many flights to Tier II and Tier II airports which did not get many flights in week.
- 50 % of the seats in every flight should have fare cap of Rs 2500 per seat per hour and will have seating capacity range from 19 to 78
- In Simple UDAN wil cover the whole country and gives economic boost to hinterland areas.
