1.Maritime Bilateral Exercise Between India and  Singapore - Simbex-17 Commences 

The 24th Maritime Bilateral Exercise between India and Singapore navy named SIMBEX-17 has commenced in South China Sea. 

The year’s exercise is aimed at increasing interoperability amongst the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN)and Indian Navy as well as developing common understanding and procedures for maritime security operations.

2.The annual Joint Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) exercise at Naval Station, Karwar. 

The Annual Joint Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) Exercise was held at Indian Navy’s Western Naval Command Station Karwar, Karnataka. The Exercise was named as KARAVALI KARUNYA, which means assistance to the coast of Karnataka.

The exercise, which involves both professional exchange and actual disaster response mechanisms for Tsunami disaster scenario.



3. Indian Institute of Liver and Digestive Sciences at Sonarpur, West Bengal

The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated the Indian Institute of Liver and Digestive Sciences at Sonarpur, West Bengal. This Institute will give treatment related to gastro-intestinal diseases at an affordable price for the people living in Eastern and North-east India and also part of Easter Uttar Pradesh.

4.ISRO Gets 2014 Indira Gandhi Prize for Peace.

Indian Spare Research Organisation gets 2014 Indira Gandhi Prize of Peace. It was presented by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to ISRO Chairman Kiran Kumar.

5.GST bill will be introduced in Tamil Nadu State Assembly next month.


Tamil Nadu Finance Minister Jayakumar announced that Goods and Service tax bill will be introduced in Tamil Nadu State Assembly next month
