1.President inaugurates integrated bio-solar-wind Microgrid
centre at West Bengal
Indian President ,Shri
Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated a Bio-solar-wind Microgrid Centre and Centre for
Water and Environment Research at IIEST (Indian Institute of Engineering
Science and Technology, Shibpur, West Bengal.
2.Madhav Chitale Committee recommends several measures for De-siltation of River Ganga.
MAdhav Chitale Committee has recommended for slew of measures for De-siltation of River Ganga. The committee was constituted in July 2016 under the chairmanship of MAdhav Chitale by the Ministry of Water Resources River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation.
The committee was constituted to prepare a guidelines for desiltation of River Ganga from Bhimgauda (Uttarakhand) to Farakka (W.Bengal)
3.Prime Minister Releases Book M.S. Swaminathan: The Quest
for a world without hunger
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has released the 2nd
part of book series on Dr.MS Swaminathan title “ M.S Swaminathan-The Quest for
a world without hunger”.
4.India ranks 154th in Health care Index
India has performed poorly on healthcare index according to the Global
Burden of Disease Study (GBD) published in the medical journal The Lancet, in which
India has ranked 154th and lagging
behind Somalia, Nepal, Bhutan, China, Sri Lanka.
5.Kalibangan museum reopened.
Kalibangan museum was reopened for public after renovation. The Kalibangan Museaum is
in Hanumangarh district, Rajasthan.
The museum was set up in 1983 to showcase
the materials found from the excavation conducted between 1961-69 on this
Harappan site.
