About BIMSTEC: 

• BIMSTEC is a Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation(BIMSTEC) comprising of 7 countries established in 1997 and its headquarters is at Dhaka, Bangladesh. 
• Five countries from South Asia including, Bhutan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and two country from south east Asia including Myanmar and Thailand are the members.
•  BIMSTEC uses the alphabetical order for the Chairmanship in a rotational basis.
