1.ISRO planned to test launch GSLV-Mk III-D1

ISRO is planned to launch GSLV-MK III-D1 rocket launching vehicle with capacity to launch four-tonne class of satellites from Sriharikota next month which will reduce dependency on International launching vehicles.

ISRO currently has capability to launch up to 2.2 tonnes of satellites by its launching vehicle. GSLV-MK III-D1 rocket launching vehicle will help to launch 4 tonnes of satellites in orbit.

2.NDMA conducts its first ever mock exercise on forest fire in Uttarakhand 

National disaster management Authority(NDMA) has conducted the first ever mock exercise on Forest fire in Uttarakhand to help improve preparedness and response mechanism in the event of forest fire.

Exercsise will help to reduce damage caused by forest fires because atleast 3,500 hectares of forest were destroyed due to fires and 1600 fires incidents were noted in last summer.      .

3.Rajiv Gandhi International Airport gets carbon neutrality status

The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport ,Hyderabad  has received the carbon neutrality status by Airports Council International(ACI) for achieving Level 3+ neutrality status.

ACI has introduced the Carbon Accreditation programme in 2009 efforts to manage and reduce the carbon emissions. It comprises of 4 levels, Level 1-Mapping. Level 2 – reduction, Level 3 – Optimisation and level 3 + - Neutrality. 

4.UNESCO’s Peace Prize 2017

UNESCO’s Peace prize 2017 has given to 56 year old Guisi Nicolini mayor of a small Italian island for their work to save the lives of refugees and migrants and welcome them with humanely as possible.
